• the canvas is basically unlimited, the program automatically chooses a dimension for your picture when you save

99% of my digital work is done in mypaint - I only use gimp/photoshop to crop and do last minute adjustments to my work. it’s especially lovely as a digital painting program and for anyone who’s addicted to the smoothness setting on SAI for linework it has great options. I really enjoy it as a program and I’d love it if more people got to try it out!

EDIT: Also, I gotta say, the programmers for it are very keen on feedback and love trying to put in new, helpful features - recently they added mirroring and straight/curve/circle lines due to demand for it, and they’re playing around with colorizing options too. They’re all in the testing build if you want to try them out and have linux. Basically, thank you very much MyPaint team for being so receptive and responsive to the needs of your userbase! :)
